Why the quality of your inputs matter

The output quality depends directly on the clarity, detail, and specificity of your inputs. Vague or incomplete inputs result in generic, shallow, or misaligned content. Well-prepared inputs allow the AI to create content that is engaging, accurate, and contextually relevant.

Below are some key input areas and their impact:

Topic/Focus

What to provide: Core subject, audience, and main points.

Impact: Ensures content stays on-topic and addresses the intended audience’s needs.

Example: "NHS waiting lists and elective surgery delays for patients in 2026."

A simple input like  'Healthcare' will provide generic content.

Context & Supporting Details

What to provide: Timeframes, locations, trends, examples, or key data.

Impact: Adds credibility and concreteness; prevents generic outputs.

Example: “Patient stories from winter 2025 show elective surgeries delayed by up to 6 months.”

Quotes & References

What to provide: Names, sources, verifiable data points.

Impact: Supports factual accuracy, allows proper citations, strengthens credibility.

Keywords (optional)

What to provide: SEO phrases or topics to highlight.

Impact: AI can naturally weave terms into the text for search visibility without overuse or keyword stuffing.

Tone & Writing Angle

What to provide: Specify style (e.g., analytical, narrative, contrarian) and tone (formal, conversational).

Impact: Guides how content feels; subtle framing ensures angle influences tone without meta-labeling or structural changes.

Practical Tips

  1. Be explicit — “Healthcare waiting list increases in the UK, 2026” is better than “Healthcare.”
  2. Provide examples — e.g., “Patient experiences with hip surgery delays” for relatable narratives.
  3. Add references — quotes, links, or stats improve credibility.
  4. Combine inputs strategically — context + angle + keywords guide output without forcing labels.
  5. Review outputs — AI structures content; you verify facts, numbers, and readability.

Writing Angles

The writing angle controls how your content is framed.

It doesn’t change the topic but affects:

  • What you focus on – which aspects of the topic are highlighted.
  • How it feels to read – the tone, engagement level, and narrative style
  • How it’s presented – the structure, examples, and storytelling elements.

Choosing the right angle

Choosing the right angle ensures your content resonates with the reader and meets your objective.

Below are the content angle options and when to use each one:

Real Life Examples / Scenarios

When to Use: Unsure or default choice

Focus: Everyday impactPractical

Feels Like: Practical relatable explanations

News / Issue Led

When to Use: Something is happening or changing

Focus: Current events and significance

Feels Like: News article or report

Data & Insights

When to Use: Stats, trends, research available

Focus: What the data shows and why it matters

Feels Like: Analytical, report-like

Industry Analysis

When to Use: Business/sector discussion

Focus: Market trends and sector-level insight

Feels Like: Expert breakdown

Public Safety / Awareness

When to Use: Risks, problems, warnings

Focus: Potential consequences and prevention

Feels Like: Guidance or awareness content

Product-led (Contextual)

When to Use: A product/service is part of the story

Focus: Real-world application

Feels Like: Natural product integration, not advertising

Opinion / Commentary

When to Use: You want a viewpoint or argument

Focus: Perspective, reasoning, interpretation

Feels Like: Editorial or blog opinion

Contrarian / Challenging

When to Use: Challenge common thinking or norms

Focus: Why usual assumptions might be wrong

Feels Like: Provocative, thought-leadership style

Narrative Storytelling

When to Use: Human or story-driven approach

Focus: People, journeys, experiences

Feels Like: Story-like, immersive narrative

Tips for using writing angles Effectively

  1. Angles are modifiers, not structural instructions — they subtly guide tone, emphasis, and focus.
  2. Only one angle should influence tone per piece; if unsure, use Real Life Examples / Scenarios as the default.
  3. Do not label the angle in the text — avoid phrases like “from a contrarian perspective” or “this article takes a data-driven view.”
  4. Use angles to highlight what matters most to your audience — e.g., narrative angles for storytelling, data angles for analysis.
  5. Temporal cues matter — News/Issue-led requires clear time context, while Narrative Storytelling can span past and present.
